First week of November peeks

If you ever saw a molting cardinal you’d know it. They ahead the feather on their heads and suddenly look like biker birds. And I wanna say I’ve even seen a biker club who had a molting cardinal in their coats of arms or whatever they call it. This painting’s been claimed already but please let me know if you’d like a print.

“Molten Lava”

8×10 acrylic on canvas panel

Straight from the sketchbook. This pretty lady might looking a little elementary but I think she’d be adorable in a little girl’s room.

“Stand Still, Look Pretty”

6×8 acrylic on paper

$30

The colors were almost stumping me for a painting I tried recently of a photo I took at Smith Mountain. It’s a local hiking trail and bird spot on Lake Martin, AL. But then, this practice piece came out pretty cool tho, I thought.

“Smith Sunrise Study”

8×10 oil on sketchbook paper

$40

And this is why practice pieces, sketchbooks and studies are where the magic happens. Somehow this appeared on a canvas. It’s like I woke from a trance, brush in hand, paint all over my arms and shirt, took a step back and saw this sunrise. It’s from Smith Mountain, too.

“In the Pines The Sun Did Rise”

16×20 acrylic on canvas

$250

And this big boy will be…

Any guesses?

You’ll find out soon. I don’t wanna reveal it just yet. But know, I’ve never painted one of these birds before and I’m excited. Someone who follows me on Instagram actually suggested it and I “caught the bug”.

I haven’t had time to put any of these up on the “Available Art” page so if you want to collect one please reply to any email I’ve sent you to let me know. Or you can contact me here.
